Are you passionate about creating innovative consumer electronics? Do you have a mix of design skills and a technical background, like a master’s degree in industrial design, mechanical engineering? Then you might be the perfect fit for the team at Contour Design.

At Contour Design, we develop, produce and market ergonomic computer accessories and are positioned as an industry leader since introducing our first ergonomic mouse more than 25 years ago. You might know some of our products like the RollerMouse and UniMouse which have won awards for design and functionality over the years.

We have big ambitions for the coming years and are in the process of expanding our portfolio with new products focusing on innovation, user friendliness, sustainability and best in class ergonomics. We are therefore looking for an industrial designer / design engineer to be part of the exciting journey.


You will be responsible for:

  • Taking projects from early ideation stages, through refinement and all the way to mass production.
  • Prototyping and testing your ideas with the relevant users.
  • Developing technically feasible products considering internal components, viable construction, and production methods.
  • Considering appropriate materials, repairability and sustainability aspects.
  • Collaborating with Product Management, R&D, and manufacturing to find the right trade-offs between user experience, robustness, sustainability, cost and more.
  • Actively participating in project review meetings and sharing your progress with internal executive stakeholders across Product Management, Development & Manufacturing, and Sustainability. Resolving any questions or problems that occur during the design, development, and manufacturing phases.


To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:

  • A master’s degree in industrial design, mechanical engineering or similar.
  • 5+ years of work experience as an industrial designer or design engineer. It’s a bonus if you have already worked with consumer electronics and have experience in ergonomics and/or wellbeing technology.
  • A profound sense for design, attention to detail and the drive to set the bar high when it comes to quality.
  • A structured and transparent way of working. You manage your work, plan, and prioritize your tasks and deliver according to deadlines.
  • Great visual communication skills and the ability to clearly share your thought process through sketches, visualizations, and renderings.
  • Proficiency in 2D and 3D software. We use SolidWorks, Rhino, KeyShot and the Adobe package, and have an in-house 3D printer.
  • A proactive, outgoing, and positive attitude.
  • Good written and oral English skills and a good cross-cultural awareness since you will be collaborating with a global team.
  • The ability to travel 15-20 days (about 3 weeks) per year to visit our R&D team, production, and other partners.
